This is a family-friendly suburban area in San Jose with the Santa Cruz mountains at your fingertips. South San Jose has a below average violent crime rate and an above average property crime rate compared to other cities in the United States.
Luna Park was an amusement park between 13th and 17th Streets, now defunct. As for safety – San Jose is safer than San Francisco, Oakland, and all but a handful of other major metro areas.
Blossom Valley Reviews Parks, shopping, and other amenities are all very close by and convenient. The safety is more or less ok. As can be expected in bigger cities such as San Jose, there is the occasional hit and run, and/or vandalism. However, the neighborhood I live in is quiet and mostly crime-free.
“Very nice, clean, and family oriented neighborhood. Lots of parks and trails nearby. Schools in the neighborhood are great. There are some homeless people scattered around but they are mostly harmless.
Evergreen is a safe neighborhood. East San Jose has more crime than other neighborhoods BUT it’s mostly among people in gangs. Evergreen has a community college and a lot of beautiful nature. People tend to talk a lot about the crime and not about much else.
Evergreen has high crime rate, you will be killed and mugged. San Jose is not very safe at all. We had 32 homicides last year. San Francisco and Oakland are much safer than San Jose (San Francisco had 44 homicides last year, Oakland had 90).
Willow Glen is one of the cutest, safest and most diverse neighborhoods in the San Jose area. The streets are lined with beautiful trees, there are safe parks for all ages within one mile or less of each other. The downtown is filled with diverse restaurants from Mexican to Japanese and Greek to American.
Santa Clara is in Santa Clara County and is one of the best places to live in California. Living in Santa Clara offers residents an urban suburban mix feel and most residents rent their homes. In Santa Clara there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.
I wouldn’t say Campbell is completely crime-free, but overall it’s a very safe place to live. It’s pretty much sandwiched between Los Gatos (very upscale town) and some nice parts of San Jose. I wouldn’t have any problem living there. Most of the crime is petty stuff, so I certainly wouldn’t be worried safety wise.
