People of all ages eat better when they share a meal with others. They tend to eat more fruits and vegetables and other nutrient-rich foods. They also eat less pop and fried foods. Eating together gives young children the chance to learn more words and how to communicate better.
In the very end, we like to eat together because this is the main social ritual through which we create large communities and networks. We like eating together because it gives us way to create social bonds, show that we care about one another, affirm hyerarchies, update each other on the gossips and news.
Eating at your desk, in the car, or on the couch causes a disconnect with our food, which often results in overeating. Try as much as you can to eat at a table and make your meal the main event.

Eating slowly helps you eat less After a meal, your gut suppresses a hormone called ghrelin, which controls hunger, while also releasing fullness hormones ( 7 ). When you eat too fast, you swallow more air, which can cause bloating and gas. Slowing down to properly chew your food helps to break down larger particles of food into smaller ones, aiding digestion.
